How to reconstitute a lyophilised peptide

Lyophilised (freeze-dried) peptides arrive as a fine powder inside a sealed vial. Before they can be measured for research, the powder is reconstituted with bacteriostatic water.

Determine your target concentration first. The volume of bacteriostatic water you add sets how concentrated the solution is — more water produces a weaker concentration, less water a stronger one. Our peptide calculator handles the arithmetic.

Draw the bacteriostatic water into a sterile syringe, then add it slowly down the inner wall of the vial rather than directly onto the powder. Let the peptide dissolve on its own; do not shake. Swirl gently if needed.

Once fully dissolved, refrigerate the reconstituted vial and use it within the validated window. Always confirm your dosing maths against the certificate of analysis for your specific lot.
